The council have won an Earth Hour Super Local Authority Badge from the WWF two years in a row for its promotion of the event.
Millions of people across the world are expected to take part when the official switch off commences at 8.30pm on Saturday, March 23.
This year’s Earth hour is a celebration of nature, promoting a future of renewable energy.
