An Aberdeen family are bringing a little taste of Paris to the city today with their homemade macarons.

Susan, Suzanne, and Jenni Williamson of Almondine Homemade Macarons are celebrating National macaron day in style at the Academy Shopping centre.

The business, which is normally based in Davids Florist on Thistle Street, aimed to bring something different to Aberdeen.

Mum Susan thanked The Academy Shopping Centre for making the event possible.

She said: “We started the business a year and a half ago and are aiming to bring the large Parisian event to the North East. We hope to run the event every year from now on.”

The sweet treats are made from a hot sugar syrup and come in a range of flavours from Lavender to white chocolate.

The family team can cater for weddings, birthdays and other private events.

Daughter Suzanne said: “We have had a lot of success at weddings, as our macaron cones offer something different to traditional wedding cakes.”

The families macaron cones offer something different for special events.

Although the company has been in existence for a year and a half, they have no plans for expanding just yet, but are still looking to the future with new ideas.

“It has taken us a year and a half to perfect the recipe and so we are happy with where we are at the moment,” added Susan.
