Julia Candy, aged 33, swapped late nights for Sunday mornings to become reverend at St Clements and St James Episcopal Church.

Julia, who already has a PhD in Psychology from Aberdeen University, has wanted to be a priest from the age of 14 years old.

Rev Candy believes her past has helped her in her new profession.

She said: “As a bouncer you can go and talk to them to help and I think that’s what I do as a priest too.”

The Preacher, who’s first placement was in Durham, said her first mass in Aberdeen at the weekend.
